The fact that it has not let go gave you the chance of a good job. ;-)

Taken very unusual, with the abdomen deflated, the position of the femur and the antennas in their place; I'm really curious to know if he was alive or rather the victim of some disease ...

The socket and abdomen are signs of a subject no longer alive. Perhaps prey of some pest or pesticide.

Mauro

Thanks for the visit and comments. Interesting what you have described. I went to see me more photos of grasshoppers taken together with this in mid-July. Making the comparison, in the other, there are antennas that in this picture seem to have dissolved, and abdomen very robust and hard while here is limp. Even the femurs are parallel to roost to support the body, while here seem to have succumbed. Not being an expert in the field, without knowing I photographed a dead bug!
