Questa grande basilica si erge sul luogo del martirio di S. Vincenzo e delle sue sorelle Cristeta e Sabina, avvenuto nel IV sec. Nonostante il suo stile prettamente romanico, l'edificio possiede volte ogivali, secondo i canoni dell'architettura gotica, nel suo interno poiché il lavori di costruzione si estesero tra il XII sec. e il XIV sec. Il portale principale, con le sue statue-colonne tanto naturali da sembrare vive, è uno straordinario insieme scultoreo. All'interno, sotto la torre-lanterna, si trova la tomba dei martiri, capolavoro della fine del XII sec. sormontato da un curioso baldacchino attribuito allo stesso scultore del portale.Alla sua ideazione contribuì anche il maestro Fruchel uno dei grandi rappresentanti dell'architettura gotica del XII secolo. In una cripta si venera la Madonna della Soterrana.
