Nella foto viene mostrato un momento della festa di San Calogero( il nome viene dal greco ossia "bel vecchio"), eremita vissuto nel VI sec. d.c., assai venerato nelle zone di Agrigento, dove è celebrato con solenni festeggiamenti. La foto mostra la festa del santo a S. Salvatore di Fitalia(ME) dove sorge un santuario a lui dedicato mèta di un intensissimo pellegrinaggio il 20 e 21 agosto. Il culto del santo in questa zona si deve al fatto che il corpo del santo fu portato in un monastero vicino da Sciacca(AG) in modo da sottrarle da una sicura profanazione saracenica: le reliquie infatti furono portato poco dopo l'anno 827 quando iniziò la conquista araba di Sicilia. Da quel momento in poi, poste in luoghi sicuri, diedero vita a un diffusissimo. Nel paesino nebroideo, la festa inizia circa un mese prima culminando nei giorni 20 e 21 agosto quando la statua viene portato in giro per il paese per ben 4 volte. Il culto del santo è così radicato che i fedeli usano portare a casa nastri multicolore strofinati sulla statua del santo. Il fercolo che si vede (chiamato "vara" in siciliano) è opera del seicento mentre la statua risulta del cinquecento raffigurante un anziano di pelle nera che incede col bastone nonostante l'età avanzata. Lo scatto raffigura il momento in cui un membro del comitato festa porge un bambino al santo affinchè lo tocchi e lo benedica mentre delle donne portano avanti il fercolo(un tempo portato a spalla nuda) con dei lacci.
