, 1.3 sec f/11.0, ISO 100, tripod.

this, since you have a tripod, I would see well with HDR that would save the readability of the parties in light of the chair ... sin, the potential was there ... :-P

I disagree with Damiana regard to HDR that personally I would avoid but agree on little legibility highlights, you could shorten the time and open or close a hair shadows lights in post.
I do not like the choice of a 14 mm which I think has distorted a lot (the two seem boots of different sizes), but we need to see how much space you were behind you to use longer lenses. Have you tried the trip bw?

Andrea

Hello Luke through the passage.
Look, in this house I've spent a good half hour, and I guess I'll go back. I shot about 15:00 and in those conditions the sun was exactly in front of the window but various debris created those two soole light areas. It was burning lights or underexpose the very shadows, obviously my choice was not the best. In post I tried several times to recover, and failed ever, I will have groped to create masks in LR for selective adjustments.
The focus was not so much the space behind me and I was only a 50mm that did not allow me the same composition, for the measurement of the boots really do not remember if they were paired.
colorize B / N tried it, but I was not able to get a result that satisfied me like the others posted.
Thank youstill of the passage,
Andrea

Regarding the number of boots I wanted to say that using a 14mm've had a perspective distortion that makes them look bigger than the other one.
I'm glad you had already thought of everything that you have written, which means that the picture was adequately designed by you and that does nothing but enhance it. Bravo is nice to have something to do with someone who has come up with times, light, recoveries, toning and space (and consequent choice of focal). Keep going
