The Great Dorset Steam Fair, 2015. Yesterday. The largest event of its kind in western Europe. These running, working engines vibrate and rock back and forth ever so slightly, so are never entirely still. They are like living, breathing beasts, that give off heat and warmth and require much attention. FAR too many photographers around, FAR too much editing required at 4 a.m. when you cannot sleep due to indigestion! Some might find the inclusion of the fairground at odds with the subject but it shows how both the young and old (er) can both enjoy such an event and how technologies have changed. Expect more photos from this great event over the days and weeks. I had not been here for possibly 12 years, so I took a LOT of images, with both my DSLRs #NightPhotos
