Really like the title of the gallery you have this in! This works well mainly in that the colour is amongst largely mono surroundings, but not resorting to selective colour, which I was rather dreading. And whether this is this year or not, like my misty river shots, reminds that autumn is knocking on our doors... dreaded by most but for us snappers, a refreshing challenge. |

Thanks very much, Tim! This was taken only yesterday and definitely smacks of autumn to me. I had to lie down, chin on the decking to take it :)) In terms of photography, I look forward to the autumn colours and light - later sunrises and earlier sunsets. I haven't always found the harsh light of summer easy to deal with and so much green on the trees often masks their beauty. |

I also find that summer, when it is hot (which isn't always, of course!) makes carrying a fairly weighty rucksack of gear not just harder work but as one wears less and thinner clothing, there's less padding and it cuts into you more. I also particularly prefer bare trees when it comes to night-time and such, which is why I tend to take much less night times right now, plus the smaller time window due to when sunset is, of course and usually being limited by when the last bus is, that is of quite significance! |

Ann, have you ever been to Compton Acres? In Canford Cliffs, I believe? I've never been and somehow fancy a formal garden before autumn sets in and tomorrow looks good for such. |

As you're not showing as on line, it seems I was a bit late with my reply as I'd gone off to cook dinner - sorry! Hope you have a good day whatever you end up doing. As you say, the weather is looking promising. |

Thank you Ann.,I haven't read the review, I tend not to - I'd been intending to go there for a while and there isn't anything similar within easy reach of a bus that my weekly bus ticket allows me to, so if I go anywhere such as this, it'll be there. |

From what I remember, it's a series of different types of gardens, including a Japanese garden, and at one point at least there are views out towards the sea. I would expect there to be enough variety there to make for some interesting shots. I've had it in the back of my mind to go there some time. |
