illa Adriana fu una residenza reale extraurbana a partire dal II secolo. Voluta dall'imperatore Adriano (76-138), si trova presso Tivoli (l'antica Tibur), oggi in città metropolitana di Roma Capitale. Realizzata gradualmente nella prima metà del II secolo a pochi chilometri dall'antica Tibur, la struttura appare un ricco complesso di edifici estesi su una vasta area, che doveva coprire circa 120 hm², in una zona ricca di fonti d'acqua a 17 miglia romane dall'Urbs. Nel 1999 Villa Adriana è stata dichiarata Patrimonio dell'umanità dall'Unesco. Diversi suoi tesori sono sparsi in tutto il mondo e Il Ciclo delle Muse dopo diversi passaggi di proprietà sono giunte al Museo del Prado nel 1830 giungendo da Segovia.
