Conosciuto come «Los Jerónimos», è stato uno dei più importanti conventi di Madrid. Attaccato al convento c'era il cosiddetto Cuarto Real, poi trasformato nel Palazzo del Buen Retiro ai tempi di Filippo IV. Del convento originario, oggi restano la chiesa e un chiostro, situato proprio alle spalle del Museo del Prado. Il chiostro è andato deteriorandosi per tutto il XIX secolo, finché, in accordo con le autorità ecclesiastiche, è stato restaurato e incorporato nel Museo del Prado come parte dell'ampliamento progettato dall'architetto Rafael Moneo. A causa del suo aspetto esteriore, oggi il chiostro è conosciuto come «Cubo de Moneo».
