, 1/60 f/13.0, ISO 500, tripod. Specie: Attacus atlas

Thanks Steve is really a beautiful butterfly, unfortunately the male was not able to photograph in sunlight because immediately closed wings and risked that I ran away before you take a good photo. Good light, hello Fabrizio

Thanks Pigi, Fernando, Paogar and Franco. The butterfly is perfect because newborn. Photographing the female was much easier as little movement as expected arrivals a male to fertilize it and then immediately lay eggs because these butterflies do not eat and live only 8 days. The male instead having to go in search of females is much more restless, in fact I had escaped almost immediately and was put on the pole you see that is the handle of the rake. Calmly I laid on top of the maple that you see to photograph it before he escapes again.
Thanks to everyone for the compliments, a warm greeting and good light, hello Fabrizio

But as eight days ... ?? But then the majority of their lives living on the caterpillars ... ???

Hello Except, unfortunately these beautiful moths (moths) have a very short life, too short for their beauty, they live much more from caterpillars, then make the chrysalis and after about, I think, about ten days arise as a butterfly. Thanks for the ride, hello Fabrizio

Hi Juliet, in fact, in addition to being the largest butterfly in the world she is also very beautiful. A dear greeting and thank you, hello Fabrizio.
