E' una zona vasta e remota raggiungibile esclusivamente con mezzi idrovolanti e necessariamente accompagnati da una guida esperta ed autorizzata ( divieto assoluto di armi da fuoco, guida compresa!!). Gli orsi in primavera sono disseminati in queste infinite lande allo scoperto, intenti solo a brucare erba ed allevare la prole... bisogna camminare parecchio e spostarsi continuamente per avere l'opportunità di incontrare esemplari e famiglie diverse. In questo periodo gli orsi sono pacifici e giocosi...ti puoi ritrovare anche a pochi metri da loro senza pericolo.
In estate le cose cambiano, è il momento dei salmoni, il loro istinto predatorio e la fame danno aggressività e la competizione alimentare li rende più pericolosi. Al Clarck Lake è possibile riprenderli in gran numero ammassati sulle famose cascate aspettando la risalita dei grossi pesci... ma tutto questo solo da passerelle e terrazze di legno costruite appositamente per i turisti (sopratutto fotografi e cineoperatori).
