con Canon EF 2.0x III, 1/400 f/5.6, ISO 125, hand held. Samburu National Reserve, Kenya. Specie: Panthera pardus

A beautiful portrait. Perhaps there would be a touch of sharpen. Hello

Hello Stephen, welcome to the forum :-)

Great shot, the expression is very funny, almost looks like a leopard does not seriously :-)

Thanks Oly, I fear that my difficulty lies in the "vice" of use for the pictures now always monitors mac, in fact while on these seemed well, looking at the Eizo I have to work a little. Thank you for the tip. I'll have calibrarmi also for the other.

Really great photos and really good subject. That mantle deserves a bit of contrast.

I do not think that sharpen (more or less) is given by the monitor, this can affect the color if not well calibrated but not sharpen the subject and framing are well made, the lights are hard, very hard with many lights / shadows, blacks are closed, you can try to recover it but I can not do it 'cause some are evidently "gone" and the detail is lost. The focal point seems to me to be on the tongue and in the eyes of no impact. It would take a little more light on the eyes and a little more clarity. The pages on this release will not be immediate, these lights are not easy to handle ;-)

Quoto Alefoto. I only ever work with the Mac .. should not be a problem ... even if you actually monitor when the photos go from mac to another you notice any changes in quality '...
This' However, I find the pictures beautiful: light and shadow in nature are so 'and we can not do anything if the leopard was there' at that moment: take it or leave .... and then click .. click ... carpe diem!
I have been in Samburu (I consider it one of the parks most 'beautiful when it was) two days, just in search of leopards (seems to be a strategic park for these wonderful cats,), in 2009. Unfortunately, nothing! So enjoy the good fortune, the photos and the memories that this will conserve '...

Thanks Alefoto, I agree with the problem of managing light / shadows, I tried to manage them as I felt better. When I'm back I will post two more of the same big cat.
Thanks
Stefano

Hello Gian Mario, Samburu I particularly like and attend at least twice a year, in a few days I will be still there. I almost always seen leopard / i, it seems to me only here in February 2012 was the only time I missed. Two years ago, the female that has been present for 6/7 years had two puppies and I managed to take some pictures. Now you can see almost normally think the only one left, maybe tonight place a picture of him. Oriana soon as you can, it is a park that no matter how small is the river that flows around and this is becoming a magnet for all animals. Great crossings of elephants completely covered with wet clay. Even the Giraffe posted in comment area is done in the river.
Thanks
Stefano
