Visto l'apprezzamento è doveroso rivelarVi le circostanze in cui ho scattato questa ed alcune altre foto interessanti. Effettivamente l'orice è animale molto schivo. Raramente capita di essere così vicini, soprattutto, fuori dalle riserve tipo Etosha, dove gli animali sono abbastanza abituati ai turisti.
La bella gazzella stava riposando, riparandosi dalla canicola del deserto del Namib, sotto le fronde di un albero. Era calmissimo e si faceva avvicinare dalle Jeep dei turisti.
Ad un certo punto un "turista", violando ogni regola di buon senso e bon ton africano, è sceso dal suo mezzo e si è avvicinato a piedi. Pensavo volesse fotografarlo da vicino, con la sua microscopica compatta. Invece no, quell'impavido voleva disturbarlo, sfidando un metro e dieci di corna. Al che, mi sono preparato e quando l'animale, invece di incornarlo come si sarebbe meritato, è scattato per scappare furioso, ho iniziato a scattare non a raffica, finchè è passato a fianco della mia Toyota, calmandosi e permettendomi di immortalarlo nello scatto che oggi vedete. La vecchia 1D mark IIn ha fatto il suo dovere! Speriamo che la sostituta Mark III non me la faccia rimpiangere in Tanzania!
