La prima menzione dei baroni di Taufers risale al 1136. Al più tardi negli anni Venti del XIII secolo essi costruirono una nuova ed ampia sede signorile. Tuttora visitabile e' un vero gioiello, in questo scatto impreziosito dalle Alpi dello Zillertal alle spalle..
