La camera fa parte dell'appartamento al primo piano detto "della Regina", ma in realtà è anche questa una stanza di rappresentanza, poiché le camere private erano situate - almeno dall'epoca di Carlo Alberto in avanti - al secondo piano. Questi appartamenti a sud dell'ingrandimento sono poco documentati. Si sa, tuttavia, che qui negli anni 1840 e 1842 furono alloggiati il viceré del Lombardo Veneto e la viceregina, sorella di Carlo Alberto, venuti a soggiornare qualche giorno a Racconigi con i loro figli, tra i quali vi era anche la futura regina Maria Adelaide.
