L'appartamento, aperto per la prima volta alle visite del pubblico il 28 settembre 2013, fa parte dell'ampliamento del castello di Racconigi voluto da Carlo Alberto ed affidato all'architetto Ernesto Melano. L'appartamento era da anni utilizzato come deposito quadri ed arredi; per l'apertura sono stati restaurati gli affreschi dei soffitti, opera del Bellosio, e vi sono stati riuniti i grandi dipinti che fanno parte delle vedute prospettiche del castello di Rivoli, eseguite secondo i disegni progettati da Filippo Juvarra, che nel 1937 erano stati trasferiti a Racconigi dal Principe di Piemonte. Completano l'allestimento ritratti ed arredi, alcuni mai esposti, collegati alla figura di Vittorio Amedeo II.
