Hood open sent on June 09, 2015 (19:46) by Nicolò Cavallaro. 20 comments, 4430 views.

, hand held.

Thank you all.

@ Aldo55
He was not involved in an accident ;-)
I have photos of the same subject with the elytra perfectly symmetrical from closed. I caught just that split second when, for some reason, he opened with a moment of advance elytron left. Soon after he opened the other and left.

Hello Nicholas, meanwhile I can confirm that the bug you well photographed, is a beetle species crisomelide and how dare:

Crysolina herbacea

I also believe that the subject of the picture, is a young specimen just become adult (pupa> adult) and then with the abdominal membrane is not yet fully formed. I can assure you, that in all insects equipped with elytra (beetles) or hemelytra (Hemiptera) when they fly they do not have internal organs visible. You've probably seen a ladybug open elytra before you fly, you remember that he had the inside of the abdomen to view? I think not!

Bye bye, Claudio

I'm not an expert in entomology. All I did was just to describe what I saw (or I thought I saw). Then, if the beetle was not yet developed and for other technical comments I give the word to those who know more. Always welcome contributions that help to shed light on the issues.
Provider and change the description ;-)

Greetings
Nicolò

Nicholas, my comment was not a criticism. I just wanted to make a clarification, to avoid dropping into error precisely those of insects is less experienced, but not either an expert! The description can not change it, because as you wrote above, you told what you saw, I find that it would be worse, not tell anything about a shot so unusual.

Hello. Claudio :-)

God forbid Claudio, you did just fine ;-) You just report the facts accurately without saying incorrect things. Reflecting well on your observation in fact it would be really strange if the internal organs were exposed in that way. I did not know of the membrane and how strange he had not yet formed completely. Thanks as always, hello :-)

Hello DAVIC.
Thanks first.

In reference to your question, I did not use extension tubes, only Olympus 60mm Macro.

Greetings
Nicholas

What colors and which yield this macro? Can I ask you if you had to do focus stacking or did you just diaphragmed it a bit?
I was looking a bit in the reviews section A lens to give to my new EM-10, I looked at the 12 F2 and the 17 F 1.8 Now I have to evaluate this :-D

@ Rui10
Here I am :-)
First of all thank you for visiting!
About your question: No focus stacking, it's a single shot.
I was looking a little in the reviews section A lens to give to my new EM-10, I looked at the 12 F2 and the 17 F 1.8 Now I have to evaluate this too

If you like the macro the 60mm is a nice lens, go quiet ;-)
so many greetings
Nicholas
