Il duomo di Saluzzo si distingue per le sue forme tipiche dell'architettura sacra tardo gotica. Costruita fuori dalle mura, appena oltre Porta Santa Maria, tra il 1491 ed il 1501, è dedicata a Maria Assunta ed è sede vescovile fin dal 1511. La facciata presenta un uniforme rivestimento in mattoni a vista ed è ornata da tre portali sormontati da ghimberghe in terracotta che ospitano statue degli apostoli (portale centrale), mentre sopra i portali laterali sono posti il patrono San Chiaffredo e San Costanzo.
