Per "Mondo Fluttuante" (ukiyo-e) si intendono quelle rappresentazioni di vita quotidiana o paesaggi tipici del mondo nipponico, prevalentemente sotto forma di stampe popolari. Il "netsuke" è un bottone o meglio un ciondolo che viene infilato nell' "obi", una cordicella utilizzata come cintura negli abiti tradizionali giapponesi; a tale scopo il netsuke presenta nella parte posteriore due fori comunicanti. ------------For "floating world" (ukiyo-e) means those representations of daily life or landscapes typical of the Japanese world, mainly in the form of popular prints. The "netsuke" is a button or rather a pendant that is stuck in the "obi", a string used as a belt in traditional Japanese clothes; to this end, the netsuke features in the back two holes connecting.
