The day after the killing of two brothers by the male stray, the only one left with more terror on him did not dare to break away from the mother, perhaps accustomed to us and submissive has not bothered and gave us the approach.
18.40 hours now dark as usual door open and lying on the floor, focal length 360mm.

you are not annoyed and granted us the approach.

He understood (very rare case) who were not men to represent a danger to the baby. Beautiful picture very original, with the "frame" of the mother to protect the puppy:-)

Some time ago I saw a photo taken in the Serengeti friend PL Rizzato struck me much. He walked around to walk a few meters from a large male who apparently grew his business by allowing Pier Luigi get closer. On Nat Geo I had seen a documentary of a guide South African who had managed to take steps to an entire pack of hyenas. I knew that from the moment you do know and follow them for a few days making it clear that not a threat but set also let you do the lions. This mother with cubs followed them for 4 full days, basically I have devoted almost exclusively to them, we were alone in unusual hours, especially at night and in the dark. It was isolated from the herd and when the puppies were three just could not keep them, curious and playful were curious and day after day closer and closer to the jeep with his mother ever vigilant but calm. After the tragedy, I thought it wasgone with the puppy survived and instead stopped a few more days in the same place, these were the last photos taken at the puppy she is, she was visibly shaken by the sad look and bewildered as if to somehow seek comfort.
It was definitely my best experience with lions; yesterday scolded puppies when they passed the limits and the next day I found the only one left both alone and afraid. I got into the jeep and cheetahs in Tarangire a leopard suddenly popped out from a acacia a few meters, I would have had to jump on him. Maybe they will also be accustomed to man but I think if the approach is the right one, you can do it very carefully. Which I doubt for hippos elephants and rhinos.
I thank you for the ride.

Click and 'very nice, transmits at the same time but in the eyes of the little tenderness there that veil of sadness for the loss of siblings and playmates !!! Thank you also for your words that tell and interact with the same photo, greetings, Diego

Ciao
Alessandro

You comment just because this is the last you put, but I congratulate you for the whole gallery is spectacular.
Ndutu is probably one of the few remaining areas where a fan who is not an accredited international media can still follow the animals as you did in the backcountry.
Congratulations tenacity.

In the eyes of the little survivor you can read your story, sad eyes and looked down sadly, very good and you catch him in the story as good as ever!

This shot is one that shows how important the caption, not only technical but the story of a moment, congratulations Paul, is always a pleasure to "read" your shots.

un saluto Jerry:-P

beautiful photo and caption of the accompanying explanation and I also really like the cut with the mother of the little that serves as a frame to small in this tender shoot.

These photos they have something fairytale film because the explanation and Grow Rich with captions that really make sense of what we are observing. The Lion King Disney's famous seems to be an integral part of this tender picture.
Reflected the passion that you put in your profession as a photographer .... shots groomed, gorgeous as framing and technique.
I congratulate you for a level definitely higher.
