Quella di sabato è stata un'uscita memorabile; per la prima volta, in trent'anni, ho avvistato una coppia di picchio cenerino a circa 3 km da casa. Molto probabilmente la coppia nidifica nel bosco in questione, visti i continui tambureggiamenti e richiami che continuavano anche ieri e oggi. Oltre alla coppia di picchio cenerino la giornata di sabato mi ha portato a trovare 3 nidi di picchio nero due dei quali appena scavati.
