You could opt for a smaller aperture to get greater clarity on the flower.
Maybe better not to cut the bud in the bottom frame.
An artificial light or a small panel speaker would minimized shadows.

I like this portrait in dim light to the flower of grass in the field that I love most. I'm thinking it would be nice to also have a rectangular format that would allow you to cut buds and leaves (up to the first bud, to be included), thus creating a composition simple and clean. What do you think Nadia?
A greeting.

Nadia.

Yes John I think you're absolutely right, your point of view made me think more about the cut.
Pigi the small panel speaker you can not always be available, as well as the subject: it was the first time I saw this beautiful flower that I knew only in photos.
She was born on the steps of a driveway in the mountains behind Nice, in a somewhat awkward position and with the afternoon sun on the eyes and in the room .... I do not like picking flowers to take pictures, I picture the flowers to remember them in their splendor.
Thank you for the passage and invaluable advice, a greeting
Nadia.

the small panel speaker you can not always have available,

In your backpack or purse, you can always keep a piece of aluminum foil that is used in the kitchen.
If you do not have the flash you can get a small lamp led Reporter of 60150 at a price not higher (50 €) which you can set the camera hot shoe. I can assure its usefulness in certain situations.
