La leonessa con i 3 cuccioletti è stata una presenza costante durante la nostra permanenza nella Ngorongoro Conservation Area; fanno parte di un branco molto efficente nella caccia che purtroppo cacciava regolarmente di notte. Una mattina, mentre la femmina si rilassava ed i cuccioletti giocavano, la sua apatia si è improvvisamente interrotta quando in lontananza è apparso uno gnu zoppicante... E' iniziato così un lento ma deciso avvicinamento interrotto solo dall' arrivo di un piccolo gnu che si era perso e che ha subito atterato le attenzioni della predatrice. Per la cronoca riuscirà a prenderlo al secondo attacco ed invece che mangiarlo, ha lasciato che i cuccioletti ci giocassero per iniziare a famigliarizzare con la caccia...
