Pensando al prossimo viaggio in India mi è capitata sott' occhio qualche foto dei Dongria Kondh una fiera tribù dell' Orissa molto legata alle proprie tradizioni che negli anni scorsi si è resa protagonista di una delle storie più belle per chi ama le diversità culturali.... I Dongria Kondh che abitano nelle colline di Niyamgir, hanno vinto un epica battaglia contro il gigante minerario Vedanta Resources salvando la loro montagna sacra!! Finalmente, dopo un lunga battaglia, nel 2013 la Corte Suprema indiana ha riconosciuto ai Dongria il diritto di decidere se effettuare scavi minerari sul loro territorio ancestrale; diritto che è stato esercitato negando qualsiasi scavo che avrebbe portato uno sconvolgimento dell' ambiente e del loro stile di vita... Tra le possibilità per il prossimo viaggio sto pensando di ritornare anche in Orissa che, dal punto di vista tribale, è sicuramente uno degli stati indiani più interessanti.
