Le previsioni erano ottime, cielo sereno dalle 22 alle 3, cosa non da tutti i giorni in Islanda, così dopo cena siamo partiti con molte speranze in direzione Fjallsárlón. Abbiamo deciso di andare in questa piccola laguna poco distante e meno conosciuta di Jukursarlon dopo avene sentito parlare da una conosciuta fotografa incontrata il giorno prima per caso e che ci ha consigliato di andare a vedere questo luogo non ancora tra i più conosciuti. Arrivati sul posto abbiamo scoperto di essere soli, il cielo era leggermente coperto ma da li a poco si è aperto regalandoci uno spettacolo unico; l' inquinamento luminoso non è decisamente un problema in quei luoghi! Trovata una composizione che ci sembrava buona abbiamo cominciato la lunga attesa. La notte sembrava perfetta, mancava persino l' onnipresente vento e la temperatura era abbastanza sopportabile. Tra di noi già ci immaginavamo un' aurora spettacolare che coronasse la fatica ed i sacrifici fatti e ci regalasse la possibilità di uno scatto indimenticabile. L' aurora c' è stata, per un paio di volte, ma piuttosto debole e decisamente non delle più spettacolari, lasciandoci sì felici ed entusiasti ma con un po di amaro in bocca per non aver assistito allo spettacolo che tanto avevamo sperato di poter ammirare. Rimarrà una notte indimenticabile, passata in compagnia di amici con cui condivido una passione in un luogo dalla bellezza indescrivibile... Però a volte un po di culo ci vorrebbe proprio :) Questa è la seconda aurora che abbiamo visto quella notte, verso le 2:15 ed è durata pochissimi minuti.
