Thank you very much for your kind words about this image. This is Skogafoss, in Iceland. I assume the rock in the foreground is volcanic, but I am not a geologist and cannot confirm this. It may look larger than it actually is due to the perspective of the image. As for the blurred image, this may be related to the jpg compression, or an individual monitor. The image was shot at approximately f/11, however the waterfall is quite powerful and generates considerable mist in the atmosphere, thus the background may indeed appear quite soft. Also, there is much moss covering the rocky hills. The image does look quite sharp on my Apple retina display.
