L'appartamento è composto da ambienti realizzati tra la fine XVII e la prima metà del XVIII secolo, comprende saloni decorati dai più grandi artisti che lavorarono per Casa Savoia tra cui Pietro Piffetti, Francesco de Mura, Claudio Francesco Beaumont e Daniel Seyter. Gli ambienti, iniziati per Vittorio Amedeo II e completati per Carlo Emanuele III, a partire dal XIX secolo vennero destinati alle Sovrane: dapprima Maria Teresa d'Asburgo, moglie di Carlo Alberto, successivamente Margherita di Savoia, moglie di Umberto. Si può riscoprire quest'ultima fase storica dell'Appartamento, ammirando gli ambienti così come si presentavano durante i soggiorni torinesi della Prima Regina d'Italia. Nella fattispecie la camera da letto fu trasformata successivamente in camera del caffè e si notano nel quadro appeso sopra il divano i figli di Vittorio Emanuele III. Il soffitto è stato dipinto da Daniel Seyter.
