Ancora una volta lascio dietro di me la sacra pieve della Madonna della Misericordia e i custodi di questa incantevole radura: tre castagni che non hanno età, ma che hanno visto e sopportato l'evoluzione dell'umanità, in questi luoghi oramai smarriti nel tempo. Penso che non serva che gli alberi mi parlino, poiché mi è sufficiente sapere che questi soldati senza età sono ancora qui che mi scrutano e sopportano la metamorfosi del mondo, senza lamento alcuno.
