Peraltro, fosse stata inserita nell'altra categoria suggerita, fin troppo facile contestarne l'assenza, da una parte, di un qualunque carattere "giornalistico", e dall'altra la mancanza delle caratteristiche tipiche della fotografia street. Senza contare poi le interpretazioni più specifiche, a partire dall'uso del tele, che per molti è di per se negazione di un corretto approccio al genere.
Il mio pensiero è quanto mai semplice: trovo ovvio e giusto che un contenitore di questo tipo sia strutturato attraverso una catalogazione per categorie/generi, per mille intuibili motivi.
Parallelamente, non riesco proprio a pensare la fotografia divisa per categorie. E spero davvero che non venga mai il giorno in cui mi capitasse di trovarmi a scattare in funzione di ciò.
In alcuni casi, una fotografia esprime perfettamente il carattere di una "categoria". In altri è più difficile inquadrarla con precisione in un certo elenco, predeterminato. In questi casi (forse è un limite mio, ma mi ci ritrovo spesso), personalmente scelgo in funzione del "meno inappropriato".
Detto ciò, non credo che sia "ritratto" come non credo sia "street" (virgoletto perchè mi riferisco alle sezioni specifiche, e non ai generi in quanto tali), per cui, se i moderatori intendessero spostarla, nulla in contrario nel modo più assoluto, anzi!

Detto però ciò, credo che questo richieda cautele e dedizione piuttosto significative.
Non dubito minimamente della tua competenza specifica, come non dubito della tua esperienza.
Ma in generale (nella mia attività questo ordine di cose è piuttosto frequente, fino a dire che quasi di questo mi occupo,), la realtà è che un approccio fondato su conoscenze ed esperienze approssimative, rischia di essere più esiziale rispetto a una sana e totale ignoranza, come spirito guida.
Due considerazioni ancora...
La prima: se ci addentriamo nell'analisi psicoemotiva di un autore, credo sia imprescindibile farlo non già attraverso una fotografia, ma piuttosto a seguito di un'osservazione attenta di tutta la sua produzione (o perlomeno di una certa quantità dei suoi lavori, magari omogenei anche per "epoca").
La seconda: quando aderiamo a forme di catalogazione, quel tuo "di solito" è d'obbligo. L'oroscopo non divide l'umanità in 12.
Ma anche modelli piuttosto interessanti, quali l'Analisi Tansazionale per stare all'attualità, o la antichissima "Scienza della Vita" indiana, l'Ayurveda, come esempio di modello tradizionale, parallelamente alle inevitabili forme di calssificazione, contengono l'implicita, forte spinta, a usare cautela e discernimento. Proprio per la limitatezza delle schematizzazioni (solo apparentemente) connaturate nei modelli stessi, che solo potrebbero indurre in errore chi ne facesse uso.
