L'accesso al Belvedere si raggiunge su venticinque metri di dislivello, attraverso più percorsi laterali a sviluppo semicircolare, e in diversi piani segnati dallo scorrere delle acque secondo modelli propri delle ville romane secentesche. Le acque dalle sorgenti soprastanti il Belvedere raggiungono tra vasche, zampilli e cascatelle l'Esedra centrale per poi ricadere a valle nel Ninfeo del Grand Rondeau. L'acqua infatti dalla galleria della sorgente sgorga prima dal Mascherone in marmo posto sul fondale della vasca circolare (Fontana del Mascherone, 10) d'impianto secentesco, alla base del Belvedere, poi fuoriesce dall'urna di una Naiade per scorrere superficialmente in una cascatella in gradini paralleli di pietra (Cascatella della Naiade, 9), delimitata da due scalinate laterali parallele, per ricadere infine, attraverso un bacino marmoreo a forma di conchiglia, nella sottostante vasca rettangolare davanti alla Grotta del Re Selvaggio e, da questa, attraverso una canalizzazione sottostante la rampa centrale, alla vasca quadrilobata dell'Esedra.
