Brazo Norte del Lago Argentino in Patagonia. Giornata di navigazione tra i tèmpanos (iceberg) che si staccano dal fronte del ghiacciaio Spegazzini. Le dimensioni di questi "cubetti" di ghiaccio sono notevoli, considerando che la parte emersa, alta anche una decina di metri, è soltanto circa un decimo dell'intero volume dell'iceberg. Quello che più mi affascinava erano le fantastiche sfumature dall'azzurro chiaro al blu più intenso, quasi irreale. Il colore del ghiaccio che siamo abituati a vedere è bianco perchè vi è presente molta aria inglobata sotto forma di micro bollicine. Man mano che il ghiaccio viene compresso dal peso di quello sovrastante l'aria viene espulsa, il ghiaccio si compatta ed il colore passa verso il blu.

Grazie. Sulla granita ci sei andato vicino! Ad un certo punto hanno issato sul catamarano un grosso pezzo di ghiaccio, lo hanno frantumato in un secchiello e veniva servito whisky con ghiaccio invecchiato... un centinaio di anni.
