La figlia di Carlo Emanuele III, sorella del re Vittorio Amedeo III, non si sposo' mai, per sua scelta e non fu nemmeno costretta a chiudersi in un convento. Si dedico' a beneficenza e opere di carita', aprendo un istituto per accogliere le donne bisognose d'aiuto. Viveva in questo appartamentino al piano terreno, in origine costruito da Vittorio Amedeo II per l'erede, il figlio Vittorio Amedeo, che mori' a soli 15 anni di vaiolo. Molte decorazioni sono sontuose, allegoriche e alludono proprio al ruolo di re che Filippo avrebbe dovuto ricoprire. Io sono rimasto affascinato dall'affesco sul soffitto del salone da parata, un'opera di Daniel Seiter che rappresenta i quattro elementi naturali con figure allegoriche e mitologiche. Le porte, i sovrapporta, i muri, i soffitti sono decorati con elementi naturalistici, conchiglie, tralci di foglie, fiori. Tre consolle della sala successiva sono sorrette da putti e tritoni, avvolti da tralci di uva: si dice che i tralci siano veri, soltanto ricoperti d'oro. Sono esposti i servizi da tavola reali provenienti dalle manifatture di Meissen, di Vienna e di Berlino, datati tra la fine del Settecento e la fine dell'Ottocento (il piu' grande e' un servizio per 77 persone), e i centrotavola in biscuit, molto belli, di tema mitologico e allegorico.
