at 115mm, 1/500 f/4.5, ISO 400, NgoroNgoro, Tanzania. Specie: Acinonyx jubatus

Ngorongoro Conservation Area Marzo 2012

I personally not crazy, white (the sky) and 'completely burned and unrecoverable, the trees in the background are blurred not silohuette, poorly defined, the same applies to the cheetah. The image has the upper part burned and blurred and the part inferioriore largely dark without any detail. All silhoutte are wrong (cheetah, trees). Maybe I'm wrong, but these were my spontaneous comments ..

Hello Ale,
thanks for the comment ille well detailed.

To tell the truth has never been my intent to make a silohuette otherwise I would have closed more shadows and also why the sun is white but it does not bother me because it is very close to the 'real effect ... same consideration for the trees ol 'grass oprimo plan of course, being on a completely different plane than the cheetah can not be in focus and what frankly I do not diapice.
As I said I'm not convinced even the result, but mostly because I do not know whether the fact that one glimpses the face of the cheetah is or is not a good thing ... I wish there were more details but other volote I also think that it has its own charm ...

The idea was good, but you have to work on it, I would think a wide-angle position closer .... a flick of flash on the first floor?
And the sun just mentioned?

Hello Maurizio,
How do you know I'm allergic to flash so for me it is not a plausible option.
I also would have preferred to find the cheetah 10 minutes earlier when the sun was lighter and more red light but I do not know why the aniamli do what they want only a handful of times!! It 's already gone very well so why all the other times the cheetahs we found them with the sun already high ......

With regard to the 'avvicinalmento, I got from' car with all the precautions approaching the maximum possible, and if I even closer, would have run to lift up legs!
It would be nice to get close enough to use the wide angle but it is not possible or at least not so. I have some ideas for next year I will try to put into practice ...
