Fu Carlo Alberto a disporre la realizzazione di questo ambiente, prima occupato dalle stanze note come Sala delle Principesse e Sala della Concordia. Tra il 1835 e il 1842 Pelagio Palagi progettò un complesso decorativo di gusto classicheggiante. Il soffitto a cassettoni, arricchito da rosoni in carta pesta dorata, ospita al centro una tela, anch'essa palagiana, raffigurante L'Olimpo, in cui le Ore danzano attorno all'allegoria del Tempo, dinnanzi ad Apollo, alle Muse e al convito degli dei. Il tema della danza torna nel fregio, dipinto da Carlo Bellosio e Francesco Gonin con Danzatrici di ispirazione pompeiana. Ad evocazione di un tempio greco, venti colonne in marmo bianco scandiscono il perimetro della sala. Nelle specchiere dalle cornici in bronzo dorato si riflettono i lampadari in cristallo di Boemia, in un gioco di moltiplicazione della luce e dello spazio. All'eleganza decorativa dell'ambiente partecipano anche il pavimento intarsiato di Gabriele Capello, i vetri smerigliati e la loggia per l'orchestra, sostenuta da esili colonne in ghisa.
