#Abbazie #Chiese Focale 16 mm. L'Abbazia di Pomposa , situata lungo la SS 308 Romea, nel Comune di Codigoro, provincia di Ferrara, risale al IX secolo, è considerata una delle più importanti del Nord Italia. Ebbe una grande importanza per la conservazione e la diffusione della cultura durante il Medioevo, grazie ai monaci amanuensi che vi risiedevano. In quest'abbazia il monaco Guido d'Arezzo ideò la moderna notazione musicale e fissò il nome delle note musicali. Nel 1653 papa Innocenzo X soppresse il monastero, che nel 1802 venne acquistato dalla famiglia ravennate Guiccioli. Alla fine dell'XIX secolo la proprietà passò allo Stato italiano. La Chiesa abbaziale, dedicata a Santa Maria è preceduta da un portico riccamente decorato in cotto e marmo, è sorta tra l'VIII e il IX secolo. L'interno è diviso in tre navate da due file di colonne di stile ravennate-bizantino, di grandissimo pregio è il pavimento ricoperto da mosaici di differenti epoche e stili. Nella volta absidale si trova l'affresco Cristo in gloria circondato da angeli, Santi e dalla Vergine, opera di Vitale da Bologna del 1351. Nella controfacciata il Giudizio Universale. Il campanile altissimo (48 m.) rispetto alla chiesa abbaziale è del 1063 realizzato in forme romanico ? lombarde.

L'immagine e' molto gradevole e ben introdotta anche dalla interessante didascalia, ottimo il pdr frontale, abbazia colta con "indosso" una bella luce, incisivo il dettaglio cosi' come appare molto efficace la rappresentazione dei colori.
