Volati sull'isola di Maui, sicuramente la parte del leone, lo fa il vulcano Haleakala e tutto il comprensorio del parco comprendente il cratere e buona parte della vetta...!! Visto da giù, non fa una grande impressione... e non sembra nemmeno cosi alto... Forse per via dei fianchi larghi come l'intera isola e che salgono "morbidi" sino alla vetta... Di fatto... servono due ore di strada abbondante per raggiungere i sui 3200 metri... che partendo dal livello del mare, pare sia il dislivello maggiore dell'intero pianeta.... Cosi dicono...!!! Durante l'ascesa al contrario, si percepisce appieno quanto si stia salendo, ogni volta che si ammira il paesaggio circostante durante le varie soste... Sensazione acuita dal sensibile cambiamento di temperatura...!!! Si passa dai 30 ai poco più di 5 gradi... con un vento.. che ti porta via...!!! I cappelli volano come il pane...!!! Ed meglio coprirsi..!! Il biglietto di ingresso all'area del parco ha la durata di tre giorni, percui, ci si può tornare a più riprese in caso di condizioni meteo sfavorevoli, come purtroppo è capitato a noi il giorno seguente... Sveglia alle tre di notte, per essere in loco presso "La casa del sole" a godere dello spettacolo dell'alba, e poi, attrezzati di tutto punto, scendere per tutta la giornata lungo i sentieri all'interno della depressione.... Ma aimè... Nuvole, Nuvole, Nuvole... e ancora Nuvole...!!!! Abbiamo scelto la giornata sbagliata... percui da sotto... immagini ZERO...!!! Tentativi a più riprese durante la mattinata ma man mano la situazione sulla cima è peggiorata e abbiamo dovuto desistere... Come aggirarsi in val padana con la nebbia...!!! Inutile camminata.... Il sentiero più lungo è di circa 16 miglia, e a memoria arriva ad un campeggio dove penso sia possibile fermarsi la notte... All'interno ci sono numerosi sentieri che percorrono in lungo e in largo l'ampiezza della depressione tutto intorno ai luoghi più caratteristici e particolari... L'area principale è di circa 11 km di lunghezza per circa 4-5 di larghezza.... L' Haleakala non è un vulcano di tipo "esplosivo"... Si è formato circa 1 milione e 200 mila anni fa dalla spinta del magma sottostante, ma che fuoriusciva da due lati sui fianchi... Esaurita la spinta dal basso, la vetta è collassata, creando quello che possiamo ammirare ai giorni nostri... Uno spettacolo indimenticabile...!!! Uno dei più caratteristici di tutte le isole... Da solo secondo mè... vale il viaggio...!!!

Sono andato a riaprire il Raw... e non ho toccato nulla... solo abbassato un pò le luci ed i bianchi perche era molto sovraesposto... nel passaggio successivo in Ps ho solo chiuso le curve per ridare colori e profondità e chiuso un pelo le luci per recuperare un pò le nuvole... Niente più... Non ho toccato un colore... e men che meno saturato niente... Giuro..!!! é la natura che a volte crea degli scenari incredibili e surreali.... In questo caso cambia molto in base alla luce che illumina il cratere durante l'arco del giorno... qui era tardo pomeriggio... forse il momento migliore...
