Di recente ho rielaborato questa foto fatta durante quest'estate in Scozia, a Stromness. Per via di varie vicissitudini, avevo dietro con me solo il 40mm f2.8 abbinato alla Canon 600D di mio padre. Lo scatto mi riporta alla memoria le impressioni che questo piccolo paesino delle Isole Orcadi mi aveva lasciato: la vita era incentrata sul porto che si immergeva nel freddo mare del nord e le persone, lente e pazienti, sembravano muoversi con lo stesso ritmo delle onde. Il tempo nuvoloso della giornata aveva fatto rinchiudere una buona parte dei turisti nei locali e nei ristoranti tipici del posto, lasciando così la possibilità ai più curiosi di vedere il piccolo paese in una forma forse più "naturale". Questa doveva essere l'abitazione di un insegnante di musica.
