Dalla piana di Ndutu e in generale dalla Ngorongoro conservation area ha inizio la lunga marcia di gnù e zebre che attraverseranno il Serengeti in Tanzania per raggiungere il Masai Mara in Kenya. Le giumente partoriscono tutte insieme nell'arco di qualche settimana qui in Tanzania così che il numero elevato dei cuccioli ancorchè in parecchi vittime di predatori, possa tuttavia garantire la sopravvivenza della specie. Un percorso di parecchie centinaia di KM costellato da insidie continue dai predatori e tre fiumi da attraversare il Grumeti in Tanzania, il Talek e il Mara in Kenya. L'obiettivo è la ricerca di verdi e rigogliosi pascoli bagnati dalle piogge. Passeranno l'estate in Kenya per far ritorno in autunno in Tanzania e continuare così il ciclo della vita.
From the plain of Ndutu and in general the Ngorongoro conservation area begins the long march of the wildebeest and zebras cross the Serengeti in Tanzania to reach the Masai Mara in Kenya.
