Chiesa dedicata a San Giacomo Maggiore Apostolo, è una delle prime erette nella zona. E' posta sulla riva destra del fiume Po a Bonizzo di Borgofranco Po. La chiesa parrocchiale sorgeva in "Villa di Borgofranco". In seguito, a causa di alluvioni, e incuria degli uomini, andò demolita. Allora il cardinale Ercole Gonzaga ordinò che la chiesa parrocchiale, sempre sotto il titolo di San Giacomo, sorgesse in "Villa del Bonizzo" perché "in loco più sicuro et centrale". Questa chiesa, assieme alla canonica, fu distrutta e il 9 agosto 1785, in seguito a un turbine che devastò la parrocchia e le zone limitrofe. Quattro anni dopo, sullo stesso posto e più ampia, fu costruita la nuova chiesa, benedetta dal parroco la prima domenica di avvento nel 1789. Non terminano qui le disavventure della chiesa; nel 1945, in seguito ad evento bellico, la chiesa fu squarciata in due tronconi, distrutta la suppellettile, spogliata di ogni cosa, rimasti soltanto quattro quadri dei moltissimi inventariati. Dopo i restauri, grazie alla generosità dei fedeli, la chiesa si presenta oggi decorosa e accogliente.
