ientrano in Austria per la riproduzione. Quest'anno un anziano seguito da un giovane ha inaugurato una nuovaL'ibis eremita era scomparso in Europa dal 1500 e da qualche anno è oggetto di un ambizioso programma austriaco di reintroduzione in natura. Alla Konrad Lorenz Research Station gli ibis vengono allevati ( sono state utilizzate iniizialmente le uova dei pochi esemplari sopravvissuti in zoo ) e imparano a seguire i genitori umani adottivi che insegnano ai giovani a superare le Alpi per svernare in Italia a bordo di un ultraleggero. Gli anziani vengono da soli e nel mese di maggio tutti da soli r rotta aggirando le Alpi ad ovest e giungendo regolarmente ad Orbetello. Mi piace pensare che in un angolo del suo DNA sia riaffiorata la memoria genetica dei suoi lontani progenitori
