Tempera su tavola 81x56cm. Opera anticamente attribuita al Botticelli , è ora generalmente riconosciuta alla sua bottega. La datazione sembra potersi fissare ai tardi anni ottanta del XV secolo. Il gruppo della Madonna con il Bambino è tratto dalla pala di S.Barnaba del maestro ,realizzata nel 1487 e ora esposta agli Uffizi di Firenze. Essa come l'opera esposta al Fogg Art Museum di Cambrige, Harvard University s'inserisce in quella produzione di bottega destinata alla devozione domestica caratteristica della fine del nono decennio che per l'esecuzione degli sfondi ricorse ai modelli nordici: uno degli edifici raffigurati riprende infatti il castello di Geffen, nel Bramante olandese. La tavola fu donata nel 1847 dal Marchese Niccolò Crosa di Vergagni alla Galleria.
