Lately I see on the forums several close-up photos of the gray squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis), often with pieces of bread and seeds kindly supplied by whom? We avoid to feed these little invaders, because their European red squirrel disappeared in the British Isles, and the flourishing Italian populations are a real threat to biodiversity, including our beloved birds. Are acts in public initiatives to eradicate the species, we also we do our part, not nutriamoli. Thank You! Grazie!

Good to know ...... however I this specimen I photographed while doing his own business and I did not do anything to bring it closer (on closer inspection are not noticed it pieces of bread will seed) ... also I do not think he went to the European fauna in danger as I was halfway around the world and I have absolutely thought to bring one in Italy. The purpose of my shooting was only to capture a particular pose of an animal common .... no intention of undermining the balance of biodiversity in New York, much less than the European! In conclusion: the next time I see one shot so we avoid the doctrinal controversy unfounded.
