Il Gamberetto peloso (Phycocaris simulans) è anche chiamato "Gamberetto delle alghe" è uno dei gamberi piu strani che si possono trovare nelle acque tropicali. Fondamentalmente sembra un piccolo pezzo di alga - un pezzo molto piccolo-. Cresce fino a 5 mm (spesso piu' piccolo) e vive tra alghe, rocce, detriti o tra tunicati e ascidie. Può assumere diverse colorazioni: bianco, marrone, rosso, giallo o addirittura talvolta verdastro e perfeziona il proprio "camouflage" con sottili protuberanze pelose.
