An uphill climb, essential and bounded by the edges dark vegetation, with a gentle curve that leads to a hill that can not be seen.
The sides stretches of barren land seem not to want to distract our view.
In the sky dark clouds alternate with stretches of white and clear skies invite us to open spaces after the ridge.
The journey into the unknown, the infinite or that we walk every day?
Who knows what you want to tell us!
From the point of view of color effect dark tones that characterize both the low and high photo emphasizing the clouds and the horizon as if to frame them.
Beautiful!

In the middle of the journey of our life we ??found ourselves in a "desert" dark ....
The beauty is good, the bad is already qual'cosa, but we have to be afraid of anything or indifference.

Peace and harmony seem to characterize this your proposal.
You immerse yourself in this scene and you feel you would like to be present. The natural curiosity would lead me to cross the line of the horizon in order to discover a new scenario!

and here they are in trouble ... while many of your shots can, albeit with all the limitations of my amateur photographic culture, to grasp, or at least consider, the message here, as I said, are in trouble. Beyond a great technique to manage the B & W I can not go. Perhaps, as the poet said, with a little help from my fiend I can do it. :-P

Although long overdue-sorry! -ringrazio All those who have focused on this my image by releasing a welcome comment.

For all answer to GmG I asked a question. I always do it willingly if this can serve to clarify and make people think. It is the real purpose of the comments.
But I come to the photo:
It is a seemingly simple and clarify immediately that I consider one of my best. Nevertheless I decided to publish it because I believe it contains, nevertheless, some reason interest. It's one of those photographs in which the "form", the embodiments, play a particularly important role. There is not a subject that "hole" and that alone makes the image. Only a minor uphill path and a cloud over any placed. And it is here that finds giusfication the definition of "deceptively simple" I mentioned at the beginning. "Apparently" because these are the images in which it is more difficult to find the right balance between the formal and expressive. My main concern was the dividing line between the ridge and the sky. I was interested in the natural inability to look beyond the shooting location. Items that are not seen in the photograph, but everyone can imagine with personal readings, constitute a "theme" for whom I have always had a special interest. So I chose a vertical cut, as if to emphasize the verticality of the path that describes the "chart peak" of our natural curiosity to look over. The ridge is at the center of the frame in order to assume, to the accompaniment of composition of the path, the role ofthe center of interest. The dark tones of the vertical ends (sky and ground) are diluted gradually lighter tones towards the center and are functional, too, for the purposes described. The comments that speak of the hill of infinity, of curiosity, walk into the unknown seems to have fully confirmed the effectiveness of my choices. The photo is not a masterpiece - I am fully aware - but his "dirty work" did: forcing someone to think, to seek possible enterpretazioni, and has allowed me to exercise the ability to express myself - so elementary, of accordo- through the language of photography.
I hope to be exhaustive. Otherwise ask.

Greetings to all.
Franc

Franco Hello and thank you, first of all, for the time I've spent answering my question in public or via MP, and this is already in itself a sign of the commitment, more than appreciated and of which I am grateful that you put in this passion and this forum. Entering into the photo, your explanation of the process that led to this shot is accurate and timely tells me that that was my first impression, and that is a good composition and production in B & W but unfortunately remain in difficulty in grasping the emotional part of the shooting, perhaps because of the lack of the subject that "hole". And 'as if I could not grasp the soul, pass me the term. But this is a purely subjective and not detract from the quality of the photographer and the photo.
As is obvious that it is not enough for a shot successful fare a photographer appreciated and recognized it is equally clear that not all the shots of such a photographer might find unanimous consent.
a warm greeting
