Items that are not seen in the photograph, but everyone can imagine with personal readings, constitute a "theme" for whom I have always had a special interest. So I chose a vertical cut, as if to emphasize the verticality of the path that describes the "chart peak" of our natural curiosity to look over. The ridge is at the center of the frame in order to assume, to the accompaniment of composition of the path, the role ofthe center of interest. The dark tones of the vertical ends (sky and ground) are diluted gradually lighter tones towards the center and are functional, too, for the purposes described. The comments that speak of the hill of infinity, of curiosity, walk into the unknown seems to have fully confirmed the effectiveness of my choices. The photo is not a masterpiece - I am fully aware - but his "dirty work" did: forcing someone to think, to seek possible enterpretazioni, and has allowed me to exercise the ability to express myself - so elementary, of accordo- through the language of photography.

Per tutti rispondo a GmG che mi ha posto una domanda. Lo faccio sempre volentieri se questo può servire a chiarire e a far riflettere. È il vero scopo dei commenti.
Ma vengo alla foto:
È un'immagine apparentemente semplice e chiarisco subito che non la reputo tra le mie migliori. Pur tuttavia ho deciso di pubblicarla perché credo che contenga, pur sempre, qualche motivo d'interesse. È una di quelle fotografie nelle quali la "forma", le soluzioni realizzative, giocano un ruolo particolarmente importante. Non c'è un soggetto che "buca" e che da solo fa l'immagine. Solo un banale sentiero in salita ed una nuvola qualsiasi piazzata sopra. Ed è qui che trova giustificazione la definizione di "apparentemente semplice" a cui accennavo all'inizio. "Apparentemente" perché queste sono le immagini nelle quali è più difficile trovare in giusto equilibrio tra gli aspetti formali e quelli espressivi. Il mio maggior interesse era la linea di demarcazione tra il crinale ed il cielo. Mi interessava la naturale impossibilità di guardare oltre dalla posizione di ripresa. Gli elementi che in fotografia non si vedono ma ognuno può immaginate con letture personali, costituiscono un "tema" per il quale nutro da sempre un particolare interesse. Ho così scelto un taglio verticale, quasi a voler sottolineare la verticalità del sentiero che descrive il "grafico a picco" della nostra naturale curiosità di guardare oltre. Il crinale è al centro dell'inquadratura in modo da assumere, con l'accompagnamento compositivo del sentiero, il ruolo di centro d'interesse. I toni scuri delle estremità verticali (cielo e terreno) si stemperano gradualmente in toni più chiari verso il centro e sono funzionali, anch'essi, agli scopi descritti. I commenti che parlano di colle dell'infinito, di curiosità, di cammino verso l'ignoto mi sembra abbiano pienamente confermato l'efficacia delle mie scelte. La foto non è un capolavoro - ne sono pienamente consapevole - ma il suo "sporco lavoro" l'ha fatto: ha costretto qualcuno a pensare, a ricercarne le possibili enterpretazioni, ed ha permesso a me di esercitare la capacità di esprimermi - in modo elementare, d'accordo- attraverso il linguaggio fotografico.

Entrando nel merito della foto, la tua spiegazione del processo che ha portato a questo scatto è precisa e puntuale mi conferma quella che era la mia prima impressione e cioè una buona composizione e realizzazione in B&W ma purtroppo rimango in difficoltà nel cogliere la parte emotiva dello scatto, forse proprio per la mancanza del soggetto che "buca". E' come se non riuscissi a coglierne l'anima, passami il termine. Ma questa è una questione puramente soggettiva e nulla toglie alle qualità del fotografo e della foto.
Com'è evidente che non basta uno scatto ben riuscito per fare un fotografo apprezzato e riconosciuto è altrettanto evidente che non tutti gli scatti di un tale fotografo possano riscontrare un'unanime consenso.
