Riserva naturale Diaccia Botrona, Castiglione della Pescaia, Grosseto ... giugno 2014 ... La Casa Rossa fu progettata e costruita dall'ingegnere gesuita Leonardo Ximenes tra il 1765 ed il 1768 nel quadro della bonifica della palude di Castiglione fortemente voluta dalla Signoria Medicea: svolgeva funzioni di bonifica per colmata, da attuarsi attraverso la regimazione idraulica delle ondate di piena invernale e garantendo inoltre il controllo ed il supporto idrico nei periodi di magra, indispensabile per il mantenimento dell'attività ittica. Sono tuttora visibili, sebbene non utilizzate, chiuse, paratie ed ingranaggi che ne caratterizzano gli ambienti interni ed esterni. La Casa Rossa è oggi sede del Museo Interattivo realizzato da Mizar, agenzia per la divulgazione scientifica curata dal noto fisico Paco Lanciano ...
