Grazie a tutti. Paura, si e no.... Quando sei sul rompighiaccio no, si sente un po di rumore quando lo spessore del pack supera il metro ma la sensazione di essere su qualcosa di affidabile c'è....è quando sei giù che ti rendi conto di essere in un deserto bianco apparentemente infinito perché si fonde con il cielo e il tuo unico riferimento è la nave con cui sei arrivato e se si ferma quella....non hai troppa possibilità di salvarti. Il freddo e le tempeste di neve continue (ero li per capodanno 2010) non permettono l'avvicinamento con niente per via aerea e il rompighiacchio più vicino arriverebbe dopo quasi una settimana. Sono bestioni lentissimi in mare aperto e meravigliosi sul ghiaccio, spartani negli interni ma accoglienti nella loro semplicità e sicurezza che infondono. Appena ho tempo vi aggiungo foto dell'interno di questo bestione, ormai unico rimasto a propulsione Diesel ed elettrica, tutti gli altri al mondo, (sono solo 6) sono a propulsione nucleare.

When you're on the icebreaker no, it feels a bit of noise when the thickness of the pack than a meter but the feeling of being on something reliable .... there is when you're down that you realize you are in a seemingly endless white desert because it merges with the sky and your only reference is the ship with which you arrived, and if you stop that .... you do not have too much opportunity to save. The cold and snowstorms continuous (I was there for New Year 2010) does not allow the approach with nothing by air and rompighiacchio closer would come after almost a week. Beasts are slow offshore and wonderful ice, Spartan interior but cozy in their simplicity and security that infuse. When I have time I add pictures of the interior of this beast, now only remaining propelled Diesel and electricity, all others in the world, (they are only 6) are nuclear-powered. Grazie a tutti.
