MYANMAR-La danza fa parte del prezioso patrimonio artistico e culturale della Birmania (Myanmar).E' mediante la danza che il popolo birmano venera i Nat, gli spiriti che in questo affascinante, complesso e travagliato Paese sembrano essere sopravvissuti al buddhismo, con il quale oggi convivono, anche nel ballo. Nell'insieme la danza è energica e richiede alcuni movimenti acrobatici molto complessi, ma ogni etnia della Birmania (che è una unione di stati e regioni) ha le proprie tradizioni ed i propri costumi. In questa scultura, acquistata a Yangoon, è rappresentata una danza fatta con elefanti.
