I really like the photo. I state not to be an expert in portraits, but I try to do what I hope is constructive criticism, even for me:
The decision to open the aperture to f1.8 I think it was great because it allowed us to have a reduced PDC which gives a great effect and highlights the left eye which is the true center of gravity of the whole picture, from the point of Compositionally if the left eye was less central, perhaps in the third at the top right (he also avoided cutting the glass)? It is still my opinion that maybe it's wrong.
The management of the light in my opinion is good.

Hello A me la foto piace molto. Premetto di non essere un esperto di ritratti ma provo a fare una critica che spero sia costruttiva, anche per me:
la scelta di aprire il diaframma a f1.8 secondo me è stata ottima perché ha permesso di avere una ridotta PDC che conferisce un ottimo effetto e mette in risalto l'occhio sinistro che è il vero baricentro di tutta l'immagine; dal punto di vista compositivo se l'occhio sinistro fosse stato meno centrale, magari nel terzo in alto a destra(avrebbe anche evitato di tagliare il bicchiere)? Si tratta comunque di una mia opinione che magari è sbagliata.
La gestione della luce secondo me è buona.
Nel complesso, ti faccio i miei complimenti.

Guarda, sulla composizione ho preferito mantenere la composizione di scatto: non ho fatto né crop né altro, la foto è stata scattata proprio così (e purtroppo il bicchiere era quindi già tagliato  ). Ho scelto di mantenere tutta l'inquadratura, anche con il fiocco fuori fuoco, perché mi piaceva un sacco lo sfuocato. Comunque penso sia un ottimo consiglio, posso provare a "stringere" l'inquadratura, tagliando ad esempio la parte in alto a destra, per concentrare l'attezione sull'occhio. Farò delle prove! Grazie mille dell'idea
