In piazza della Libertà, a pochi passi dal Duomo, fa bella mostra di sé il Torrione; unico esemplare rimasto delle mura che circondavano la cittadina. Esso viene altresì considerato il simbolo della città di Legnago proprio perché ricalca la storia architettonica e militare autoctone. Anticamente è stato usato con la funzione di prigione (qui sono stati incarcerati alcuni patrioti tra i quali il conte Emilei di Verona e il poeta Aleardo Aleardi).
