Prima di partire per la Cina sapevamo benissimo che non sarebbe mai stato possibile fotografare gli esemplari completamente selvaggi che sono tra gli animali più schivi e vivono isolati anche grazia ad un olfatto prodigioso che gli fa avvertire la presenza di umani o anche di un altro esemplare di panda da grande distanza.... Ma, abbiamo avuto il privilegio, di poter andare in aree riservate, attigue ad un centro di riproduzione dove i pandi vengono fatti riprodurre... La fortuna più grossa ed esclusiva, è stata anche quella di poterli fotografare grazie ad un permesso speciale perché, perché, da qualche mese, in Cina è vietato fotografare i panda anche nei centri più famosi e meta di turismo come ad esempio Chengdu e Wolong ( per altro ancora chiuso a causa di un terremoto che ha colpito di nuovo l' area ad agosto). Poter passare 6 giorni consecutivi a cercare di fotografarli, ci ha permesso di portare a casa scatti interessanti e anche di conoscere meglio questo meraviglioso animale di cui a dire il vero non è che realmente si sappia tantissimo... Una delle cose che non mi aspettavo è che, soprattutto gli esemplari giovani, hanno una grandissima attitudine ad arrampicarsi e che amano tantissimo riposare sulle piante.
