La mandria unita, stretta contro la collina per impedire ai licaoni l'accerchiamento, forma un muro impenetrabile di corna e zoccoli. Ai licaoni non rimane che guardare i cuccioli senza poter far nulla. Il loro pasto è rimandato, ma non credo per molto.

È il capo branco e sa come farsi rispettare, gli altri lo seguono a ruota, quasi sempre così raccolti e uniti riescono a respingere anche i leoni.
